Works to Senate House Lower Ground Floor
We were appointed by the University of London as Project Manager on this project to create a café and breakout area at lower ground floor level in the Courtyard of Senate House.
The project comprised a number of elements including the installation of a kitchen area and seating areas.
A key element of the project was the installation of a roof over the Courtyard, which presented a number of design and logistical challenges. The roof structure comprises nine separate pieces that have been carefully connected to complete the steel framework, filled with 110 individually shaped, triple glazed panes of glass. Elements of the structure have been sourced throughout Europe and the components have required carefully checking throughout the process.
Key points about the project:
- Listed building
- On site presence
- Bespoke glazed roof installation
